The Michelin Stars Shine at the Peak

Kuala Lumpur, 16th October 2006 - World-renowned Michelin Stars are set to shine at Genting – City of Entertainment! Hailed as maestros for their culinary skills, the Michelin Chefs are due to fly in from Germany, France and Italy! Catch them in action at The Olive and dine on heavenly cuisines by Chef Volker Drkosch, Chef Joel Antunes and Chef Ramon Freixa Reira in conjunction with Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2006.

Genting Highlands Resort is proud to present the three Michelin Stars. The Michelin Guide, one of the world's foremost gastronomic guides, awards Michelin Stars to restaurants that embody excellence in all aspects of their dining experience, from the quality of the cuisine to the ambience, service and attention to detail.

Michelin Stars are considered the most influential and consequently most prized accolade in the culinary world. Restaurants that achieve a star rating are considered the best of the very best and the chefs behind this success are accorded a status rivaling those of Hollywood superstars.

Chef Volker Drkosch from Germany will start off this culinary journey from 24th – 29th October at The Olive Restaurant. Throughout his career, he has served in some of Germany's most prestigious Michelin Star-awarded restaurants. In 2004, Chef Volker was given recognition as Germany's Most Creative Chef by Bunte Magazine.

Michelin Star Chef Joel Antunes will be at The Olive from 3rd – 10th November. On his award winning ways, he led the Dining Room at the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead in achieving a Mobil Five Star award as well as an AAA Five-Diamond award making it the only restaurant in the Southeast to hold both accolades at the same time.

Spanish Chef Ramon Freixa Reira will be the third Michelin star to spice up this outstanding gastronomic promotion at The Olive from 15th - 19th November. Chef Ramon received a host of accolades, including the Best Restaurant in Spain (2001), Best Chef of the Year (2001), Best Cheese (2002) and Best Desserts (2003) from the Gourme-tour Guide, Spain's most prestigious culinary guide.

The Olive Restaurant will be serving all these renowned Chefs' favourite menus whilst our own in-house chef, Chef Oliver Lopez, will present his own creations for the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2007 to cater your discerning taste.
