50 Years of Nationhood – World Lion Dance Invitation
 

Kuala Lumpur, 5th June - In conjunction with the celebration of Malaysia’s 50 Years of Nationhood and Visit Malaysia Year 2007, Resorts World Bhd has announced that it would be organising a momentous 3-day event, namely the 50 Years of Nationhood – World Lion Dance Invitation Championship.

The event, which is one of the fifty major events listed in Malaysia’s year-long celebration in conjunction with the 50th Merdeka celebration was launched today at Malaysia Tourism Center at Jalan Ampang. Guests of honour at the launching ceremony were Yang Berhormat Datuk Donald Lim - Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr Leong Lik Thong – Chairman of Selangor & Federal Territory Dragon & Lion Dance Association and Resorts World Bhd (RWB) Executive Vice President – Mr Alan Teo.

The 50 Years of Nationhood – World Lion Dance Invitation Championship will be held on 3rd to 5th of August 2007. The first 2 days are the Preliminary Rounds and the finals will be held on 5th of August 2007. The event will be held at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands Resort. It is a must-see event that should not be missed by both local and foreign tourists.

This year, the championship holds promise of spectacular stunts and action. The Champion will be awarded with a lucrative cash prize of USD10,000 together with the title of “50 Years of Nationhood – World Lion Dance Invitation” champion. A total of RM98,000 in cash prizes will be given away. RWB has received participation from other countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, China, US, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Brunei, Taiwan and Australia.
