Kuala Lumpur, 7th July - One of America’s most enduring stars – Tony Orlando once again returns to Genting – City of Entertainment and is going to soothe your heart with his melodious tunes on September 13 (Saturday), 8.00pm at Genting’s Arena Of Star.

Organized by Genting – City of Entertainment, Tony Orlando “Yellow Ribbon” Tour 2008 concert’s Official Radio is LiteFM, Official Karaoke is Be A Star and Official Loyalty Card is Genting WorldCard.

First 2,000 fans are entitled to enjoy 20% discount when you purchase PS 1 to PS 3 tickets range from RM90 to RM190. Members are entitled to get 10% discount on all price scales after early bird promotion period. Tickets are priced at RM60, RM90, RM140, RM190 and RM250.

Born and raised in New York City, Tony began his glittering music career and hitting the national chart at the age of 16, with “Halfway to Paradise” and “Bless You”. He later expanded his singing career to working behind the scenes and became one of the youngest vice presidents for CBS Records.

Tony has never failed to stage a warm and exhilarating energy in his performance that electrifies audiences. Tony is best described as an outstanding entertainer who has conquered every facet of show business from top selling records, popular television series, movies and broad way.

In 1973, he released “Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree”. It became Tony’s biggest hit and the top-selling single of the year. This song was infused with hope, homecoming, reunion and renewal. Later in 1981, this song reentered the public consciousness with renewed force after its original success. It became something of an anthem during the Iranian hostage crisis as American citizens regularly tied yellow ribbons around trees as a symbol of their hopes as well as prayers for the hostages’ safe return.

All these years, his music has touched the deepest part of people’s heart. A string of smashing hits include “Knock Three Times”, “Candida”, “Sweet Gypsy Rose”, “He Don’t Love You”, “Who’s In The Strawberry Patch With Sally”, “Cupid”, “Stepping Out (Gonna Boogie Tonight)”, “Mornin’ Rose” and many others.

Aside from that, Tony also made his appearance on television, which resulted in his highly rated weekly variety series on CBS. Breaking new grounds, it was the very first multi-ethnic variety show on television. The show was well accepted and highly regarded. It ran for four seasons from year 1974 to 1976. Many big stars set their sights on his programme as well, including his boyhood idols, Jackie Gleason and Jerry Lewis.

Throughout all the sparkling years, Tony remains one of the America’s best loved personalities. Proudly, he is a three-time winner of American Music Awards, People’s Choice Award and Patriotic Award. Tony was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1990 for his glamorous achievement in entertainment industry.
